I'm just a little black rain cloud...pay no attention to little me???

This morning started out pleasant despite the rain. I had an open house at IADT, so I got to meet one of my professors and get a glimpse of what I'll be learning. We also saw Bertha of course- she LOVED her Bag of Bertha.
The rest of the day will be expressed through Facebook statuses and pictures:

The ones with my name at the front are my statuses and the italicized are my thoughts in retrospect.

Hillary Winter meeting that Rutledge boy at Pancake Pantry! Waiting in the rain- worth it!

At Pancake Pantry you have to wait outside...we forgot umbrellas...and the miserableness of the rain begins- though it was worth it, it was COLD and WET.  (Grammy, we got wet!)

Hillary Winter This afternoon's entertainment is being provided by cars crossing the RIVER in the road!

This little flood was on the way to our hotel. We utilized Trixie, the GPS, and went around the flood. However, we went back and sat in the parking lot of another hotel to watch. So here, we were safely watching from a far.

Hillary Winter Legit thigh high water and cars are driving through. Two cars have died.

This picture is of the driver of the first car (who for some reason thought it would be smart to gun it through the river) helping the guy who tried going across even though the first car was still stopped in it. Not smart Josh-not smart.

Hillary Winter Police are now taping it off

She opted out of helping Josh and putting tape on our side...her amazing idea lasted all of 10 minutes after she left. She's here to protect and serve- unless that means crossing 3-4 feet of water...then your out of luck.

Hillary Winter Police left and truck mowed through the tape

Hillary Winter just helped push a car out of the road, in a skirt, in the rain. It was legit fun.

me, meghan, tori and random nice guy...Josh is in the car being chivalrous of course.

Hillary Winter just so everyone knows- we're totally ok. We're taking our new friend Josh home

This status was because people started asking, and stuff.

Hillary Winter is still ok however after an hour sitting in traffic we found out it was flooded to the point of floating cars. Decided to go back.

This is what was going on just up ahead: .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5gYhLKwS

exiting the I24 on the "on ramp."
Word to the Wise:
if you are going to get on the interstate and you see that hundreds of cars are exiting on the onramp, just turn around- obviously something is wrong.

3 HOURS LATER:

Hillary Winter just dropped Josh off. Heading back to town

1.5- 2 HOURS LATER: (even though he only lives about 30 miles away)

Hillary Winter IS BACK AT THE HOTEL! what a night. what. a. night.
(That's an Office reference)

Hillary Winter Brett 'Sherbs' Rutledge you sure picked a crazy night to miss...definitely have a few more stories now.

Hillary Winter yeah if you've seen the house float down i24, we were just behind that...just on dry ground. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5gYhLKwSp4

NEWS QUOTES FROM THE NIGHT:

"This flood can only be described as Biblical" ....well, not so much

"You may be carried away or worse, you're car may be totaled!" ...."he needs to sort out his priorities" (Harry Potter reference)

Man in a church "We've been to the river, but this is the first time the river has ever come to us"

"Flooding is still our biggest concern." ...duh.

Anyways, fun times in Nashville! Still love this city...moving here in a month!
